Board the Bus!
As part of Phase 2 of the Save the Edges campaign to bring awareness about the value of keeping public roadside ditches and right-of-ways natural, Pheasants Forever will be hosting two media tours on August 8 and 15, 2023.
The tours will visit southern Alberta to see examples of trespass farming and why these strips of habitat should be left intact. Tours are scheduled to start at 10:00 am with a presentation. Media will board the bus for a 2-hour tour including lunch.
In addition, we recently completed two months of radio, print ads and social media posts that wrapped up in June. Print ads were placed in 15 southern Alberta community papers. A half-page ad was also placed in Southeast Alberta Report and Insight magazine. Additionally, ads were placed in two agricultural publications, Alberta Farmer and Western Producer. Distribution of the papers was to 540,000 folks over two months.
We were also pleased to have Save the Edges as the subject of a PF on the Landscape/Canada article published in Pheasants Forever Upland Journal of Conservation by Pheasants Forever Inc. sent to 130,000 members in Canada and the U.S.
In addition to the above, the Save the Edges radio ad was played on 10 radio stations and social media posts were amped up to 2 posts per week, spiking Save the Edges website views to over 3,000.
